Happy Halloween everyone! Duke is playing tricks not treats with the stream flow schedule. Both East and West Forks are flowing which is making wading difficult at best for the experienced angler. Great time to float but not wade. Good news is the November 3rd and 5th are scheduled stocking days in Jackson County DH section of the Tuckasegee River. Some fresh trout with fresh lips will help the fishing and maybe give the others with sore lips a chance to recover.
Expect mostly cloudy skies today with highs in the lower 60's. Sunday we have a 60% chance of rain and 100% chance of rain Monday. We have had some great fall weather to this point and fishing has been good but eventually it will get cold.
I did have a trip in the GSMNP yesterday and we took trout on dries. Small dries worked best but client did land a nice trout on a woolly worm that I tie. It is a #10 dry pattern that works well this time of year with the worms crawling. We seen midge hatches as well as tiny BWO's. Leaves were not that bad but they are starting to come down at a quicker pace.
The last tournament of the season is taking place this weekend on the Trophy Section of Ravens Fork. It should fish good the next week as one would guess that they have stocked fresh stock as per previous tournaments.
Tight Lines!
