Today is a scheduled stocking day for the DH section of the Tuckasegee River in Jackson County, home of the only Official Fly Fishing Trail. The Tuckasegee is flowing pretty well or as you can say, blowout. Duke is releasing water from both the East and West Forks until 11:59PM today. The Tuck is also dingy after the 2 inches of rain the past few days but the temps are very mild for November.
Small streams levels are up also. The Ravens Fork, Oconaluftee River, and other streams including but not limited to GSMNP streams are also at high levels. One can expect the GSMNP streams to calm down the quickest and be fishable first.
Call or email with questions and be sure to check current stream flow conditions on out site. Also if you are in town, the Tuckaseigee Chapter of TU will be meeting at 6pm this evening at United Community Bank meeting room. Please come and join us.
