January 10, 2017

We are starting to thaw out after a strong artic blast made its way across the southeast dumping upwards of 8 inches of snow in some locations.  We have sun and temperatures in the 40's now but we expect some rain a nice warming trend as we continue thru the week.

Duke Energy is running the East Fork of the Tuckasegee n limited basis which means that wading conditions are good right now.  Water temps are cold but I expect the trout to really be on as we finish out the week.  Still dress in layers and be prepared in case you take a spill.

Stone fly nymph patterns can be effective.  Emerger patterns drifted just below the surface can produce some strikes and I would not rule out the chance of taking a few trout on a BWO or tiny black stone.

Feel free to call the shop or stop in to see us.

Tight Lines!
