November 12, 2015

I hope that all Veterans had a great day yesterday.  I was able to sneak out a bit early and fish the Deep Creek area of the GSMNP and caught the slam yesterday afternoon.  The water levels are a bit high but defiantly fishable.  Seen lots of insect activity and the trout were eating.  I took trout on a #10 UV Yellow Stimulator and a #16 Frenchie Nymph.

The DH section of the Tuckasegee River in Jackson County is still flowing at 833cfs this morning and Duke Energy is continuing to release from East and West Forks over the next 72 hours.  This is making our DH section hard to fish unless you float it.  With all this being said great fish are being caught and released now.

We have colder weather headed in with lows in the 30's and highs in the 50's coming in this weekend.  Some forecast show lows in the teens but we will see what we get.

Tight Lines and Bent Rods!
