December 26, 2015

I hope that everyone had a blessed Christmas!  We certainly have been blessed with rain from this past system.  I have measured a smidge over 6" in the rain gauge and as you can imagine the streams are impassable with flows reaching almost record levels.  Area wide flooding has been an issue but I think that the worst is behind us.

It will be a few days before fishing will be an option.  Remember that the smaller mountain streams will be the first ones that you can float a nymph or fly in.  They will reach fishable levels the fastest then the tail waters will be the last.  My concern are the lake levels that Duke Energy has been struggling with to keep at normal levels. This past rainfall will only compound that issue.

Feel free to contact the shop if you have any questions.
