September 18, 2015

Water levels are still low which is making the fishing somewhat challenging at best.  We are getting reports in the shop that higher elevation trout are not seeing as many flies and nymphs drifted in the feeding lanes.  My advice is to hit the high road and find the coldest water and you will find the trout.

Dry fly selection should include but not limited to the following:  Midge Patterns, Blue Winged Olives, Light Cahill, Elk Hair Caddis, Peacock Caddis, Orange Palmer, Stimulators, Charlie Whopper, Orange Snipe.

Nymphs should include Black and Brown Stoneflies, Ants, Beetles, Inchworms, Hellgrammites, Tellico Nymph, Worm Patterns, Pheasant Tail Nymph, and Secret Weapon Nymph.
