February 6, 2017

Looks like another fantastic week in early February!  Slight chances of rain will dominate the forecast with mild temperatures reminding us of why we love spring so much.  I certainly recommend hitting the water or trail this week and take advantage of the mild weather.

I had a chance to float a section of the Tuckasegee yesterday with some success.  We landed some nice trout and seen some larger ones lurking deep but not interested in the many offerings drifted in front of them.
We watched skidding caddis getting eating by a rising trout on the river edges but most activity for us was subsurface.

Be prepared for anything, dries, midges, nymphs, and some smaller streamers.  Water levels are good for wading but a bit low for floating some areas.  We can still do a float trip if you want in certain areas of the Tuckasegee.  This is also a great time for a wade trip if you are interested.

Tight Lines!
